Fieldnotes

A record of observations I made in the field, and, occasionally, in friends’ fields.

A clean, modern workspace featuring a slim laptop displaying a blurred academic article, surrounded by printed journal articles neatly stacked with color-coded sticky notes marking important sections. A large world map with pins and strings indicating research sites covers the wall behind the desk, slightly out of focus. A ceramic mug of tea, a precise black pen, and a small stack of index cards with handwritten codes sit within easy reach. Cool, diffused daylight from an unseen window illuminates the desk, creating a calm, studious atmosphere. Photographic realism, shot from a slightly elevated three-quarter angle with sharp focus on the desk items and gentle bokeh in the background, conveys organized, professional PhD-level anthropological research.
