The Anthropawlogist

Documenting my journey towards a PhD in Anthropology

About Me

📸 Hojo-in Temple, Uji · April 2026

I’m often described as a Jack of all trades. Thankfully, I’m not a master of none. I’m a master of three (at least on paper :p). I hold an MA in Modern Asian Studies, an MA in English, and an MA in Anthropology, built upon a BSc in Sociology and Criminology. Apparently, collecting master’s degrees (and by extension Uni ID cards) has become something of a hobby of mine.

This website is my field notebook, thinking space and occasional rant repository. Here you’ll find field notes, photographs, reflections on random things, selected terms I want to explore further from my A-Z glossary and some longer pieces of writings that I am proud of (?). It is less a showcase of expertise than a record of my intellectual curiosity.
